Fabrication of silica-based ceramic cores with internal lattice structures by stereolithography

Ceramic cores are widely used in investment casting, and ideal properties of essential for high-quality castings. Under the circumstances requiring thick cores, solid likely to encounter deformation cracking defects due accumulation shrinkage. Therefore, with superiority ceramic stereolithography producing complex parts, hollow lattice structures were designed fabricated. The dimensional accuracy green sintered bodies evaluated. Results show is controlled within ±0.25 mm benefited from precise bodies. mechanical not obviously deteriorated. bending strength reaches 11.94 MPa at room temperature 12.87 1,500 °C a creep 0.345 mm. Furthermore, casting verifications prove that meet requirements casting. Smooth surfaces obtained, same time, core-removal efficiency improved by over 3 times.
